Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, countless Ukrainian men have taken up arms to defend their country. Tragically, many of them have lost their lives in this ongoing battle for Ukraine’s independence. As a result, over 4,000 children have been left without one or both parents, either through death or disappearance. In the Odesa region alone, more than a hundred children are grappling with the loss of their fathers and the trauma of war. The number continues to rise daily.

The Rotary for Children of Heroes of Odesa project is dedicated to providing vital support to these children and their guardians, focusing on key areas such as legal aid, medical assistance, educational support, and emotional and social rehabilitation.

The initial phase of the project will focus on emotional and social rehabilitation through Day Out events. These monthly gatherings will offer a combination of entertainment, educational activities, and therapeutic support, including visits to a Children’s Center, lunch, masterclasses for both children and guardians, and film screenings.

The estimated cost of each event is 200 Euros, depending on the number of participants. The total project budget for 2025 for these Days Out events is set at 2,000 Euros.
